Imphal, August 22 2021:
Demand Committee on Creation of Autonomous District Councils (DCCADCs) of the newly created four hill districts of Manipur namely Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Pherzawl and Noney has lauded chief minister N Biren for his all-out effort to bring uniform development in for both hills and valley areas.
In a release, the Demand Committee said that the creation of separate ADCs in the new hill districts is a historic gift given by the chief minister to the tribal people.
He did what others could not or not even dream of for the well-being of the people of both valley and hill areas of Manipur, it added.
Pointing out that the present chief minister executed many programmes and policies that could bridge the gap between the hills and the valley through face to face contact programmes, the Demand Committee maintained that the conduct of cabinet meeting in the hill district headquarters is also a befitting reply to the successive misrule of Congress party in Manipur that alienated the people and created a great divide between them.
While the whole state cutting across community line is coming forward to contribute for the sake of peace and harmony, some organisations and petty politicians who do not have any vision for the future of both hills and valley are scheming to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in Manipur, regretted the Committee.
