Imphal, August 22 2021:
The Demand Committee on Creation of Autonomous District Councils (DCCADCs) for Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Pherzawl and Noney, has appealed to the All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) to suspend the 24 hours bandh called on August 23.A press release issued by DCCADCs claimed that ATSUM is being used by some petty politicians to smear dirt on the present Government.
The DCCADCs on the other hand, extended gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren Singh for his effort to bring equal development in Manipur.
A press release issued by DCCADCs said that the creation of separate ADCs to the newly created four hill districts is a historic gift of the Chief Minister to the people of Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Pherzawl and Noney.
Saying that N Biren had been working to bridge the gap between the hills and the valley through programmes like Miyamgi Numit and Hills Leaders Day, the DCCADCs continued that Go to Village was one of the exemplary programmes of the State Government.
The conduct of Cabinet Meeting in the Hill Districts Headquarters of Manipur is also a befitting reply to the previous Congress Government that divided the people of hills and valley, it claimed and maintained that imposition of bandhs and blockades which were frequent during the tenure of the previous Government has also reduced considerably with the coming of BJP led Government in 2017.Unfortunately, some organizations and petty politicians who do not have any vision for the future of both hills and valley are out to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of Manipur once again, DCCADCs rued and claimed that all these plans and conspiracies are orchestrated by the rival political parties to discredit the good name of the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, Thadou Students Association (TSA) has resolved not to endorse the 24 hours shutdown called in the hill districts.
