Leadership Council of Thang Ta Manipur observes foundation day

The Leadership Council of Thang Ta (LCTT) Manipur today observed its foundation day and held a general assembly of the council at Meitei Langol Aying Leikai.
The programme was presided by council's chairman, Huidrom Premkumar, said a statement of the Leadership Council of Thang Ta Manipur.
During the general assembly, Huidrom Premkumar had stressed on the importance of all Thang-Ta fraternity to join forces and bring a collective change, it said.
Premkumar also proposes democratic set ups in all the Thang-Ta bodies and associations and for democratic election of office bearers of the respective bodies, it said.
Proposing proper maintenance of other aspects of a democratic institution, such as bye laws, paper works and account statements to all the organisations, he also assured that the council will assist in submission of the documents to concerned authority.
Financial assistance to Athokpam Chingkheinganbi Chanu was also extended under the council's welfare scheme, it said.
The council also resolved to remain as a political front as it is registered under section 29-A of Representation of people Act 1951 and firmly believes in "Cultural Nationalism".
The council also paid tributes to its founder Chairman Angom Ranbir of Soibam Leikai and recalled his contribution towards the Thang-Ta movement in the State, it said.
The council also appreciated the State Government for coming out with a State policy and providing moral and logistic support, it added.
