Decrying police inaction, the "JAC against the brutal killing of Md Amir Khan" has called an indefinite bandh along Imphal-Moreh road from 5 am tomorrow.
It may be mentioned that the body of one Md Amir Khan (35), son of Md Ayub Khan of Sora Makha Leikai was found along a road connecting Sangaiyumpham Pali Bazar and Tentha under Thoubal police station.
An emergency meeting of the JAC formed in connection with the incident was convened today at Sora Bazar and it was resolved to call the indefinite bandh.
The meeting was presided by retired Headmaster, Md Abdul Kudus and the members present strongly condemned the alleged torture and killing of Amir Khan who went out of his residence on August 19.The members also denounced laxity on the part of police to make a breakthrough in the case and arrest more persons involved in the killing even as a non local who accompanied him on the day he went out with has been arrested.
The meeting also resolved to demand immediate arrest of persons involved in killing Md Amir Khan, not to take the body until the culprits are arrested and legal actions are initiated, to press for harsher punishment of those involved in the inhuman act, to seek compensation for the children and the family and to demand for appointment of a new and sincere Investigation Officer.
The meeting also resolved to submit a memorandum regarding their demands and proposal to the Chief Minister.
