UCM continues to extend help to farmers

Imphal, August 22 2021:
United Committee Manipur (UCM) distributed urea fertilizers, AYUSH medicines and seeds of winter crops to farmers of Pukhao Khabam, Purum Likli and Kharam today.
Today's programme was carried out in continuation of UCM's initiative of extending help to the farmers under the theme 'Self reliance on Food', said a press release by UCM.
In today's programme urea bags, AYUSH medicines and seeds of cabbage, cauliflower, onions, brinjal, tomatoes, cucumber and bottle gourd were distributed to the farmers.
Throwing light on the hardships faced by the farmers for better yield and productivity from the limited sources, UCM appealed to the Government to look into the matter keenly and work out special measures in the interest of the farmers.
UCM also urged the authorities concerned to ensure that farmers in remote and hilly regions get the due benefits of the various schemes of the Government.
Expressing concern on the issue of non-availability of urea fertilizers faced by the farmers every year, the Committee earnestly appealed to the Government to carve out a new policy so that the farmers get the fertilizers at the right time.
