Apna Dal (Sonolal) launches Manipur unit

Apna Dal (Sonolal), which is a partner of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the centre, has launched its Manipur unit on Sunday and appointed its executives.
The newly entered political party is also preparing to its field candidates in the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Speaking to media persons at the newly opened office of the party at Old Lambulane, here, newly appointed Apna Dal (Sonolal) Manipur Pradesh president Konthoujam Manoranjan informed that the party was established by Dr Sonolal Patel in 1995 .
After the demise of Sonolal, the party has been led by Anupriya Patel, he informed, while exclaiming that Anupriya has been working for the upliftment of poverty stricken people and communities.
Pointing out that Apna Dal which means 'our party' has cup-plate as its election symbol, Manoranjan maintained that the party will be suitable to the socio-political interest of the people of Manipur where there are many underprivileged communities.
He continued that the party does not discriminate people on the basis of religion and community.
All parties which have similar ideology can go hand in hand with Apna Dal, he declared.
Informing that there are many people who wanted to join the party, Manoranjan said that preparations for fielding candidates in the upcoming assembly election have been made.
The launching ceremony was also attended by newly appointed general secretary (administration) MI Khan and other executive members.
