SVEEP campaign held, Bishnupur cops cast votes

A one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organised at Top Khongnangkhong in Imphal East district by the Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) Imphal of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday.
During the programme held with Top Khongnangkhong local club secretary Prema-nanda Singh as the president, ROB, Imphal head Dr Aribam Ibomcha Sharma explained on Informed Choice and Ethical Voting to the audience which consist mainly of new and first time voters.
Inclusive and accessible election, use of cVigil App, Know Your Candidate (KYC) App, Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) were also discussed apart from conduct of spot quiz contest on Election Quotient.
Manipur Oriental Cultural Association, a Private Registered Troupe (PRT) of ROB, Imphal staged a drama called "Election Gi Sambal".
Meanwhile, police and VDF personnel assigned election duty cast their votes on Thursday through postal ballot at the Badminton Hall of SP Office complex in Bishnupur.
Election observers, Bishnupur DEO/DC, SP, ROs and election agents of contesting candidates from the district were present during the voting process.
It may be mentioned that civil voters engaged for polling duty in the district will exercise their postal franchise on the second day of postal ballot scheduled on February 25 at Loyola School, Ningthoukhong Hr Sec School, PRC Hall and Mini Secretariat Block C.On the other-hand, the third round of training for presiding officers and polling officers appointed for the conduct of the Assembly Election in the district concluded on Thursday.
During the two-day training held simultaneously at four venues, the district and assembly level coordinators for webcasting imparted training on handling of EVMs and operation of web streaming kits in polling stations.
Later in the afternoon, a refresher training for sector officers of all the 6 ACs in the district was also conducted at the Conference Hall of DC Office.
