State level Yoga Olympiad concludes

The 7th State Level Yoga Olympiad 2022, which was organised by Directorate of Education (Schools), culminated at Johnstone Higher Secondary School on Saturday.
Speaking at the valedictory function, Education (S) director L Nandakumar explained that practicing Yoga helps in bringing peace to our mind, thereby helping to improve concentration, boosting the immune system, increasing flexibility of human body and preventing physical injury, in addition to bringing humankind closer to nature.
He then urged the citizens to reap the ben efits of Yoga by practicing it as regularly as possible.
Nandakumar then informed that altogether 237 people participated in the Yoga Olympiad, of which 20 selected would represent the state at the National Level Yoga Olympiad, to be organised by NCERT and Ministry of Education on June 19 and 20 .
The 20 representatives would leave the state on June 16, he conveyed while extending best wishes to the players.
Presided over by Education (Schools/Valley) additional director Bisheshwar Khumukcham, the closing function was attended by Education (Schools/Hills) additional director Seiminthang Lenthang as guest of honour.
During the closing function, Education (S) Physical Education promotion officer (Yoga) Dr LW Ananta presented a report on State Level Yoga Olympiad 2022, followed by a Yoga demonstration by students of Yoga Physique Institute and Stud -ies, Manipur and distribution of simple gifts to the 20 delegates who would be participating at the National Level Yoga Olympiad.
