Medical camp, security meet conducted

Imphal, May 21 2022:
Shangshak Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted a medical camp at Semasong village in Kangpokpi district on Saturday to provide basic medical checkup, first aid and essential medicines to local populace including children.
Medical team from Assam Rifles carried out health checkup of 146 adults and 43 children, informed PRO IGAR (S) in a release.
In another statement, the PRO said that Phundrei Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a security meet at Khambhathel village in Chandel district on Friday, which was participated by more than 15 village chiefs.
The meet provided a platform for brainstorming various security issues prevailing in the area and to gauge the pulse of the locals.
Various issues related to career, growth prospect including recruitment in armed forces were also discussed.
The need to insulate youth from drug menace was also adequately covered during the meet, apart from sensitising and updating the local on current security situation existing in the area.
The locals were encouraged to align their efforts towards a common goal of peace and prosperity in the area, added the PRO.
