Journalist award winners announced

Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) director Heisnam Balkrisna Singh on Tuesday announced the winners of Manipur State Journalist Award-2022, which will be given under eight categories.
Briefing media persons in the presence of a panel of jury and officials of DIPR at the auditorium of the directorate, here, H Balkrisna informed that the awardees for the eight categories are Ningombam Hemantakumar for Best Editor Award on National Integration & Communal Harmony; Moirangthem Khagemba Meetei for Reporting on Public Health & Hygiene and for Rural Reporting; Robinson Wahengbam for Reporting on Art & Culture; Taorem Bishwajit Singh for Parliamentary Reporting; Maibam Kenedy Singh for Science & Technology Reporting and Rabi Takhellambam for Reporting on Women and Children, all of Sanaleibak daily, and Khumukcham Joychand Singh of Hueiyen Lanpao for Sports Reporting.
The Manipur State Journalist Award, which was instituted in the year 1994, is conferred every year to journalists of the state who published commendable news reports, features or articles published during the previous calendar year.
The Awards will be distributed during the state level National Press Day observance on November 16, he added.
Stating that there has been slight modification in the system of evaluation for the awards from previous year, H Balkrisna mentioned that the names of the firms and by-lines of submitted editorials and reports were not made known to the jury members but were adjudged by denoting code numbers to each report.
