State students Indore-bound for exchange programme

Manipur University vice chancellor Prof N Lokendra Singh on Sunday flagged off students and teachers of the state who will be participate in an 'Exchange Programme' under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav - Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Under the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) - Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB): Visit of students to paired states", the student-teacher contingent was flagged off from Manipur Institute of Technology, Manipur University campus.
Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) is a programme for promoting national integration through systematic exchange between paired states.
Manipur is paired with Madhya Pradesh and MIT has been selected by the ministry of Education for implementation of the exchange programme under EBSB.
The team will stay in Indore for five days during which they will learn about linguistic and cultural aspects of Madhya Pradesh covering history, culture, language, cuisine, festivals, clothing, etc.
The team comprising 33 students, including 19 from different schools and from 14 colleges, and four teachers will also visit Sewage treatment and Bio CNG plant in Indore, and city of temples - Ujjain.
They will also witness Sports Academy in Indore along with sporting events.
Their visit list also includes ASI Monuments of historical importance, museum, heritage sites and meeting internationally famous artisans of Maheshwar silk.
Apart from this they will visit Mandav Garh, the cultural heritage town of Holkar Dynasty and experience food and culture among many other things.
Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme aims to enhance interaction & promote mutual understanding between people of different states/UTs through the concept of state/UT pairing.
The states carry out activities to promote a sustained and structured cultural connect in the areas of language learning, culture, traditions & music, tourism & cuisine, sports and sharing of best practices, etc.
