'Politicians behind drug proliferation in state'

165 Infantry battalion (TA) (H&H) Assam organised an awareness programme in connection with International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking observance under the theme 'Share Drug Facts to Save Lives' at Peace Institute for Alcoholic & Drugs Addiction Centre, Khangabok on Sunday.
Speaking as chief guest, 165 INF BN (TA) (H&H) Lt Col Nongpoknganba remarked that illegal drug business proliferated in the state with involvement of politicians.
He lamented that alarming situation in the state due to drug menace has harmed many generations of the state.
He also exhorted drug addicts to stand firm on their resolve for de addiction from drugs.
The observance was also attended by staffers of Peace Institute for Alcoholic & Drugs Addiction, Khangabok and inmates of the institute who are undergoing de-ad-diction treatment.
