Thoubal, June 26 2022:
The JAC formed against the murder of Korimayum Abdullah of Yairipok Changamdabi has expressed dissatisfaction against the chief minister and the SP Thoubal, citing sluggish investigation into the murder case, and warned of resuming stir.
Addressing a press meet at Yairipok Changamdabi on Sunday, JAC convener Ayub Kori said that the decision to resume stir was taken as they are not happy with the way the investigation is going on.
He also said that the two co-conveners will be appointed to strengthen the JAC.
They thought that CM Bi-ren will definitely consider their demand and deliver justice but the JAC can sense possibilities of external influence in the investigation.
Police have failed to make any breakthrough in the case even though circumstances made it clear about the involvement of Tabasum, her elder sister Sana and her brother in-law.
They have not been booked till date despite the compelling circumstances, he said.
Alleging involvement of the OC and a SI of Lilong PS in misleading the case, he also questioned the silence of the government over the matter.
Mention may be made that the victim Korimayum Abdullah went missing after he went to the house of his lover Tabasum's elder sister Sana at Lilong Nungei for a dinner on May 16.His body was fished out from Imphal River in the morning of May 22 .
