Lanchenba adjudged best swimmer after scooping 4 gold & 1 silver medals

Laitonjam Lanchenba walked away with the best swimmer trophy (boys' Group III category) in the 38th Sub Junior National Aquatic Championship 2022 which wrapped up at Rajkot, Gu jarat, on Sunday.
Lanchenba's stellar performance over course of the competition earned him four gold and one silver medals.
The state boy's stunning feat saw him win one gold medal each in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle events, coupled With one silver medal in 200m medley event.
Lanchenba had also won a silver and a bronze medals in the 37th Sub Junior National Aquatic Championship held at Bengaluru in 2021.Born to L Kanta Meitei and Soniya of Singjamei Mathak Thokchom Leikai, Laitonjam Lanchenba started his swimming at Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri under the guidance of H Dhamen and M Purnachand (Naobi).
He trained there for about two years.
He has now been training at Modern College Swimming Pool, Porompat (Imphal East) since 2027 under coach T Thouba Singh.
