CCpur, June 21 2022:
Amid acute shortage of fertilisers particularly urea and Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) commonly known as diamond when farmers need them the most at this point of time, there is report of dearth of supply of the items to farmers from the government.
Even if fertilizers are available in the market, farmers are forced to purchase the same in the range of Rs 2000-2500 for one bag of urea and Rs 3000 for one bag of diamond.
Owing to this, many farmers are unable to purchase fertilizers.
Meanwhile, it is reported that many trucks carrying urea and DAP are moving along the Churachandpur Sugnu Road every day since the past one week with a farmers' body claiming that these fertilizers were carried along Tiddim road and then to Churachandpur-Sugnu road and finally to Myanmar.
Sensing something fishy, volunteers of the farmers' body kept vigil along Churachandpur-Sugnu road at Saikot village.
When stopped and checked, trucks were found loaded fully with urea and DAP and drivers informed that the fertilizers are bound for Myanmar.
