District administrations, others celebrate International Yoga Day

Imphal, June 21 2022:
District administrations, security forces and civil organisations celebrated the 8h International Yoga Day at their respective institutions on Tuesday.
In Senapati district, the celebration held at Multipurpose Hall, opposite to Mini Secretariat Complex was jointly organised by the district administration and NYK, Senapati.
Around 150 people including DLOs, personnel of district police and CRPF, NYK volunteers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and students took part in the event.
In Kangpokpi district, a one-day Integrated Communication & Outreach Programme (ICOP) on International Day of Yoga was organised by field office, Senapati under the Central Bureau of Communication at Kanglatongbi community hall.
The event was attended by Achou Khwairakpam, a national judge of All India Yoga Cultural Federation, and L Joyprakash, yoga instructor, as resource person and demonstrator respectively.
Chandel district also joined the country in the celebration of the 8th International Yoga Day 2022.The main event was organised by the district administration at Women's Market, Japhou Bazar under the theme "Yoga for Humanity" .
The Yoga Day was also celebrated at the Chandel police headquarters while NYK, NCC, and NSS jointly organised such an event at Chandel District Hospital and UCC College, Chandel.
In Thoubal district, the International Day of Yoga was celebrated in nine different health and wellness centres at Tekcham, Tentha, Ukhongang, Thoubal Khunou, Haokha, Waithou, Irong Khunou, Haoreibi Mayai Leikai and Athokpam village under the aegis of the district administration.
The district level International Day of Yoga programme was held at Tekcham in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal.
Altogether 70 NYK Thoubal volunteers, officials of CMO office Thoubal, staff of PHC Khongjom, HWC Tekcham and villagers took part in the yoga session.
In connection with celebration of the International Day of Yoga, a one day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on the theme "Yoga for Humanity" was also organised by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Imphal at its Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak auditorium in Imphal East.
As a part of the event presided by Region additional director general B Narayanan, Manipur International University's Department of Yoga, Naturopathy and Physical Education lecturer Dr Sanasam Meetali explained on the benefits of practicing Yoga while Dr Khelabati Devi Soram of the same university led a demonstration on Common Yoga Protocol followed by the participants.
Artistes of CBC Regional Office also presented an action song based on the theme of yoga.
Among others, CBC head of office Aribam Ibomcha Sharma, empanelled artistes and Private Registered Troupes (PRT) of the office participated in the event.
