CRPF, AR units celebrate International Yoga Day

To celebrate the 8th International Yoga Day and spread awareness about benefits of performing yoga in daily lives, 69 Bn CRPF conducted 'Yoga Camp' at its Mantripukhri Headquarters on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, battalion commandant Bajrang Lal apprised the jawans and their families about the importance of Yoga and encouraged the participants to make it a part of everyday lives and to keep fit, mentally and physically.
He also affirmed that CRPF will continue to render such good services for the growth, development and prosperity of its personnel and their families and society as well.
143 Bn CRPF too celebrated 8th International Day of Yoga at its Lamphelpat headquarters, in Imphal West district as a part of observance of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav this year.
Battalion commandant Lamkhokam Lhoujem, second in command K Sonny Singh, deputy commandant Sandip Sharma and M Santosh Singh, along with 500 personnel and civil population residing near the area took part in the Yoga demonstration under the guidance of Master Yoga trainer of CRPF.
Speaking on the occasion, commandant Lamkhokam emphasised that June 21, International Yoga Day is being celebrated all over the world with a theme "Yoga for Humanity".
He also pointed out that yoga is known for its amazing health benefits and practicing Yoga enables the unity of mind, body and soul.
Meanwhile, Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted a yoga session at HQ Mantripukhri on the occasion of 8th International Day of Yoga on Tuesday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the event was organised to spread aware ness about the importance of yoga.
On the other hand, the Battalion also conducted yoga session and pipe band display to commemorate the 8th International Day of Yoga at Sabungkhok Khunjao, Yaingangpokpi in Imphal East on Monday.
Keithelmanbi Battalion also conducted yoga sessions at all COBs in Imphal West, Kamjong, Thoubal and Bishnupur districts on Tuesday to celebrate International Yoga Day apart from a pipe band display at Kangla Fort.
Headquarters 26 Sector Assam Rifles conducted yoga sessions to commemorate the Day at Pallel, Modi, Tengnoupal, Moreh and Company Operating Bases while 10 Sector Assam Rifles conducted yoga sessions at Somsai, Shangshak and Chassad Battalions and Company Operating Bases, and 28 Sector Assam Rifles at Sector HQ Kakching, Phundrei, Shelon, Joupi and Sajik Tampak Battalions and all Company Operating Bases.
The events were organised to spread awareness and benefits of yoga among the troops and families with emphasis on flexibility, strength and endurance being achieved through yoga.
Meanwhile, 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) organised indoor yoga at Veteran Sadan in Tamenglong and various outpost locations in Tamenglong and Kangpokpi districts on the occasion of International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations.
According to PRO (Defence), the indoor yoga sessions organised by the battalion consisted of yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation.
The participants were taught these specific asanas and yogic techniques, which are designed for the monsoon while giving us the added benefits of increased immunity.
The Battalion also organised yoga on iconic Tamenglong helipad opposite Rani Gaidinliu open air Lounge in the town.
Noney Battalion of 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) celebrated "International Day of Yoga- 2022" during which the Battalion propagated Common Yoga Protocol.
(CYP) in Battalion Headquarters and all Company Operating Bases after the address by Prime Minister which was live streamed for participants through proper arrangements.
Lecture and practice of yoga on International Yoga Day at Nungba village was also organised with an objective to harness the energy of Indian Army persons, families and defence civilians.
The participants were educated on the importance of yoga as a means to cultivate the mind and body synergy.
