DM students mull stir over results, mark sheets delay

The students of DM College of Science have cautioned of launching intense agitations from October 21 if the mark sheets for the first semester examination and the examination results of the second semester are not declared by October 20 .
Addressing a press meet held at the central hall of DM College of Science here on Friday, third semester student Konthoujam Leisembi Chanu stated that the first semester examination of the College, which is under DM University, was conducted in March, while the second semester examination was held in July.
However, as neither the mark sheets nor the results of the two respective examinations have been declared, the students are unable to renew their UGC scholarship.
This has left many of the students restless and in a panic state, she conveyed.
In this regard, the students met the university's VC, controller of examinations, registrar and principal and also informed them of the issue in writing.
During the meeting, the students were assured that the results for the first semester examination would be declared in last week of September, while that of second semester in 1st week of October.
However, as no results have been declared till date, the students decided to boycott the classes from October 10 to 13, she informed.
Owing to the students' protest, the results for the second semester examination were declared but the mark sheets have not been released till date.
As the mark sheet is mandatory while renewing UGC scholarship, the students are in a state of panic as the last date for the renewal is October 31, Leisembi said.
