Massive condemnations on gun attacks

Many civil organizations have condemned the gun attacks by unidentified miscreants on a religious 'Lairaoba' procession at Pallel on Tuesday late night killing one person and injuring four others.
Salai Taret Enat Saktam Kanba Lup (STESKL) in a press release issued by the President, Th Lamjingba, condemned the unfortunate attack and said that such disrespect is an outcome of the lenience given by State authorities regarding various communal attacks in the past such as dismantling of temples and disrupting religious rituals.
Laiyingthou Sanamahi Thougal Kanglup (LSTK) also condemns the attack on sacred procession and condoles, the death of a devotee.
In its press release issued by its President, O Menjor Khuman it is said that LSTK extends its support to all public decisions against such demeanor, as it is against the religious beliefs of the Meiteis and will not tolerate any kind of disrespect.
South East Asia Cultural Organization (SEACO) condemning the attack has made appeals to the Arts & Culture Department to seek a legal authorization to provide adequate security measures during religious processions and cultural rituals.
The press release issued by its General Secretary, Laishram Kennedy states SEACO's shock regarding the disrespect shown towards by one community to another when appeals have been repeatedly made to maintain communal harmony and unity.
ACOAM-Lup, Kangleipak condemning the attack has demanded an appropriate action to prevent such disrespectful gesture and violence in future.
ACOAM-Lup, Kangleipak also extended their condolence to Moirangthem Gopal and wish a speedy recovery for the injured persons, said a press release issued by the lup President, Ksh Somorendro.
All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organization (AMESO) and Kanglei Chanura Chaokhat Lamching Lup (KANGLEICHALL) demand severe punishment to the miscreants who opened fire at them during a religious Lai Haraoba procession on Tuesday night at Pallel Laikon Leikai in Chandel district.
AMESO condemns the attack and appeals for zero tolerance in dealing with such anti- socio-cultural misdeeds and disrespectful actions.
In a press release issued by AMESO General Secretary, M Suren they extended their condolence to Moirangthem Gopal and support for the families of the victims of the attack.
KANGLEICHALL condemns the sinful action showed towards the Meitei deity and has claimed the attack as actions of few mentally deranged persons who need adequate treatment and stop jeopardizing the unity of the society, said a press release issued by its Secretary, M Sunita.
It further questioned the functioning of various police personnel along the route.
