Birth anniversary observed

The 126th birth anniversary of Dr Narayan Subbarao Hardikar was observed at Congress Bhawan, BT Road Imphal by the Manipur Congress Seva Dal today.
President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Gaikhangam paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dr NS Hardikar.
Dr NS Hardikar founded the Congress Seva Dal in 1923 .
He was an eminent social worker of the era who had worked for the upliftment of the youth.
As a humanist, Dr NS Hardikar enforced discipline among the youth of India and started the Seva Dal which was widely endorsed by the Nationalists.
Commenting on the works of Dr NS Hardikar, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam said, "For the Congress party, Dr NS Hardikar was an important person who had imparted discipline among the party workers and was also known for his immense contribution for the well-being of the party.
Even the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was an active member of the Congress Seva Dal" .
He urged the party workers as well as the people of the State to follow the principles laid down by Dr NS Hardikar for the development of the State and endorse his teachings and philosophy.
