AMSU Wangjing unit
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) Thoubal District Committee has set up a Wangjing unit of the union on Thursday.
Kh Malemnganba Meetei was appointed as president of the newly established Wangjing unit, Robinson Keisham as general secretary, Moirangthem Kunjakeshore as finance secretary and Thangjam Sofia as publicity secretary, a statement said.
World AIDS Orphans Day
The World AIDS Orphans Day 2015 was celebrated at the conference hall of MACS in RD Wing, Lamphel here on Thursday.
The function was jointly organized by MACS, NGOs Forum, MNP+ and VIHAAN.
MACS Project Director PK Jha, MACS NGO Partner Forum's Vikramjit Nepram and Head of Department of Pediatrics, RIMS Dr L Ranbir were the chief guest, president and guest of honour on the occasion.
AMSU Nambol branch formed
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) Nambol branch for 2015-2017 has been formed on Tuesday at Nambol Higher Secondary School under the guidance of AMSU Bishnupur District Committee.
The new unit will work under AMSU Bishnupur District Committee.
The new selected committee will have Hidangmayum Gyaneshwor as the president, Pukhrambam Chandrahas as General Secretary and Hiudrom Malemnganba as Finance Secretary, said a press release issued by AMSU Bishnupur District Committee General Secretary, M Mani.
KWWA urges a united stand
Kangleipak Women's Welfare Association (KWWA) has demanded severe punishment for the culprits who opened fire at the religious procession at Pallel on May 5 late evening.
Condemning the attack the association urged the society to stand united against such acts, said a press release issued by the association's President, AK Memcha Leima.
Awareness session held
An awareness session was conducted as a part of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP).
It was jointly organized by District Health Mission Society Imphal West, Senjam Chirang Youth Club and Gram Panchayat Pradhan on Thursday.
300 mosquito nets were treated with anti-insects liquid and Malaria testing was conducted for 23 persons during the programme, said a press release issued by Senjam Chirang Youth Club's General Secretary, H Jiban.
CSO condemns Pallel incident
Various organizations condemned the unfortunate firing incident between Pallel and Satu village on May 5.In a separate press statement issued by Committee on Human Rights (COHR), Manipur Publicity Secretary Dayanda Sharma and the All Manipur Muslim Students' organisation (AMMSO) President Faris Khan said shared the pain and grief of the families of the deceased and the injured persons.
MCSU to hold farewell programme
Manipur College Students' Union (MCSU) will hold a small farewell programme for students appearing in the final semester on May 9 at 12pm.Hence the union has requested for their timely presence, said a press release issued by the Union.
