ADC Election 2015 Update : 555 nomination papers okayed

The scrutiny of the nomination papers of the forthcoming Autonomous District Council elections was completed on Thursday.
Altogether 555 nomination papers were found to be in order.
BJP is fielding the highest number of 121 candidates followed by 97 of INC, NPF 86, others 14 and independents 237 .
There are some constituencies where there are lone candidates which means that no elections will be held.
However elections where there are more than one candidate will be held on June 1.The last date of withdrawal of the nomination papers is June May 11.The whole election process shall be completed by June 17 .
With the completion of the scrutiny, 10 candidates can be regarded as winners already as they are facing uncontested elections.
Those candidates are four Congress candidates of Chandel ADC; one Congress candidate of Sadar Hills; one BJP candidate of 3-Tungai of Senapati ADC; and four NPF candidates of Senapati ADC.
This data was revealed from the Control Room of the State Election Commission.
For the ADC polls, 121 candidates of BJP; 92 candidates of Congress; 93 of NPF; six of JD (U) and 251 independent candidates will fight for the 144 seats of the six Autonomous District Councils of Manipur.
Nomination papers of some candidates got rejected today in the scrutiny today due to lack of documents.
The last date of withdrawal of candidature is May 11 .
Meanwhile, the recovery of a body at Otang village about 17 km away from Noney in Tamenglong district on Thursday created a stir among political circles.
First information received here said that he may be an active worker of a candidate.
