Imphal, May 07 2015 :
BJP is hopeful of achieving absolute majority in all the six ADCs in the coming ADC polls on June 1, expressed BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba to our agency today.
He, whoever, added that the success can be achieved only if the election is conducted freely and fairly.
The State BJP president further confirmed that the party will finally contest in 121 seats, even though a list of 130 candidates was announced a few days back.
The reduction from 130 to 121 candidates is due to cases of abductions and withdrawals.
After BJP, NPF came second by fielding 93 candidates while Congress is contesting with only 92 candidates.
Th Chaoba also announced that BJP has already opened an account, it may be said, as BJP candidate PA Thekho of 3-Tungjoy, Senapati district is getting an uncontested win.
Even though Congress, at present, has 48 MLAs and three MPs, it failed to perform anything that serves the interests of the Manipuri public, said Chaoba.
Ministers, MLAs and Chairpersons of ADCs, instead, have been looking for their own gains, thereby failing to bring development in hill areas and the people.
In such a circumstance, voters of hill areas are gradually orienting to BJP and so the chance of BJP getting absolute majority is very high, added Th Chaoba.
The BJP State president further appealed to all the voters to cast their votes for BJP so that the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government's vision to eradicate corruption and ensure that due benefits to the common people are reached can be achieved.
