NSCN (K) bans FCI trucks bound for Manipur

Imphal, May 07 2015 :
In an announcement made on Thursday the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) has banned plying of all trucks transporting items of Food Corporation of India (FCI) from Dimapur to Imphal.
The order was issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity, NSCN (K).
The ban order comes into effect from May 9 and shall remain in force till further orders.
There is a regional FCI godown at Dimapur from where the items for Manipur are lifted for transportation along NHs 2 and 37.No reason was given for the new order.
It may be recalled that the NSCN (K) had abrogated the ceasefire with the Government of India.
In a major offensive, 8 security personnel were killed and some others wounded in an ambush in Mon district of Nagaland.
The Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang has been prevailing upon the union government to rope in the NSCN (K) in the peace process.
