UADC caretaker chairman, UDWJA extend Christmas greetings

UADC caretaker chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung and Ukhrul District Working Journalists' Association (UDWJA) extended warm wishes to the people of Ukhrul district and the state on the occasion of Christmas.
In a message, Dr Ngalung said "May the Christmas celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ who came to redeem the sinners on earth, be a joyous and blessed time for everyone".
He said that in spite of the outbreak of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic that took a heavy toll and threw life into total disarray, His grace simultaneously continued to guide and help the human race keep going.
"This truly calls for exaltation and celebration in His name!" Adverting to the brighter side of the pandemic, Dr Ngalung said that Covid-19 has proved to be an eve-opener in many ways for the people of the district.
"The pandemic has taught us the importance of unity and enlightened us about various challenges in life.
It has also taught us about-the need for hygienic lifestyle and made us aware of various shortfalls in our healthcare system," he said.
"But the most important thing is, it h'as taught us to seek God in times of trouble and helplessness.
As new variant Omicron is on the prowl, let's continue to keep faith in Him and follow the protocols to overcome it," he pleaded.
Looking forward with hope, the UADC chief expressed his wish for the incoming New Year 2022 to be a year of fulfilment of the long-craved aspirations of the Nagas.
He said that the collective Naga leadership has been engaging in a series of peace talks with the Government of India since 1997 and that the Framework Agreement toward resolving the Naga political issue.
Meanwhile, in a separate message, UDWJA president Addie Chiphang and Secretary Ricky Angkang wished the people of the state a joyous Christmas season, adding "May love and peace prevail in the home Of the different ethnic communities inhabiting the state as we forgive each other and renew our bond".
"As we celebrate Christmas, let's look back and reflect the path we have trodden thus far and amend our ways in keeping with the true spirit of love, peace and forgiveness that Jesus Christ, the prince of peace embodies" .
The UDWJA leaders also called for everyone to strive towards strengthening the bond of unity, love and mutual understanding among the people so that peaceful, vibrant society is ensured in the coming New Year 2022 .
