Jiribam, December 24 2021:
Jiri College Students' Union (JCSU) has closed Jiri College for an indefinite period in protest against transfer of their physics faculty member.
In a video recording released to the press, JCSU finance secretary Somorjit Konthoujam stated that few days ago, the Union had requested the authority concerned to cancel the transfer of College's Physics Department assistant professor Khoirok Kabita Devi or send a replacement.
But the authority concerned overlooked their demand, hence the Union decided to close down the College until their demands are met, he added.
