Imphal, February 24 2022:
Giving liar tag to the BJP for failure to keep its promises, INC youth leader Kanhaiya Kumar has said that BJP is still unable to complete the Secretariat complex of the state and yet they have completed the party's state office.
Attending a political conference of INC candidate for the seat of Sagolband assembly constituency Moirangthem Momo at Sagolband Sayang on Thursday, Kanhaiya said that PM Modi promised to double farmers' income but in reality, farmers are suffering more than ever under the BJP government.
They carried out protest against the three farm laws and several farmers died during the course of year-long protest.
At the same time, unemployment rate is increasing every year.
Likewise, the Biren government has failed to keep the party's promises.
The party promised to provide or create 1.5 lakh jobs every year but it has failed miserably on this front.
Despite the claim of bringing development, the BJP government has not been able to complete the construction of state Secretariat complex.
However, BJP completed construction of the party office, he said, while calling BJP as a corrupt party.
Moirangthem Momo said that Sagolband AC is lagging behind in health and education sector.
Improving road connectivity alone cannot be called development.
In the absence of any good government school, parents are forced to send their children to private schools and bear high cost of education, he said.
He then assured of setting up a good government school in the constituency if he got elected.
He also assured of improving socio-economy condition of the people and to ensure regular tap water supply to the people if he got elected.
CPI Manipur Unit general secretary Salam Sarat, INC Northeast in-charge Bhakta Charan Das and other alliance leaders attended the programme.
