Assam Rifles holds security meet

Facilitating constructive dialogue and strengthening civil-military cooperation, Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive security meeting at Mahamani in Chandel district on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by IGAR (South), the meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss collective efforts towards maintaining security, promoting harmony and ensuring inclusive development.
The interactive session was attended by around 55 representatives, including village chiefs, personnel of Chandel Police, members of civil society organisations, tribal bodies, women's groups and youth organisations.
The discussions focused on the prevailing security situation, maintaining a peaceful environment during the forthcoming electoral process and strengthening coordination among security forces, civil administration and local communities.
Assam Rifles officials stressed the importance of sustained vigilance, timely sharing of information and public cooperation to counter anti-national activities and address emerging security challenges.
The meeting also discussed community-centric initiatives, including youth empowerment, skill development, promotion of lawful livelihood opportunities and greater public participation in nation-building.
The participating representatives appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles towards maintaining stability, undertaking socio-economic development initiatives and extending humanitarian assistance to communities.
Reaffirming their support, the participants pledged to work in close coordination with Assam Rifles and Chandel Police to strengthen mutual trust, safeguard regional harmony and contribute to the long-term development and progress of the district.
