Don't interfere in Manipur's affairs: WMC to Miz CM

World Meetei Council (WMC) or-ganised a meeting of all CSOs at Ra_jbari, Manipuri Basti, Guwahati on Sunday to discuss the prevailing restive situation in Manipur.
In a release, WMC informed that the meeting, made several observations and adopted various resolutions, including to urge the government of India for constitu-tional protection to Meetei as enshrined in ST provision, implement NRC in Manipur at the earliest, protect indigenous people against atrocities committed by the immigrants in Manipur and resolve the conflict between Meetei and immigrant Chin-Kuki people.
It also condemned the destruction of Meetei temples and the demand for separate administration by the 10 Kuki MLAs, the release said and added that Mizoram CM should not interfere in the internal affairs of Manipur and that the political parties of the state should stop playing politics over then present conflict in Manipur.
WMC also urged the media houses not to portray victims as perpetrators.
CSO leaders from various organisations of Assam including Ngangam Baldev, Yengk-hom Upendra, Khemamayum Dilip, Ush-am Dipak, Irabati Devi, RK Ranjit, Karam Punshi, Gourav Sharma, Y Dhan Singh, Lourembam Madan and Irungbam Hari were present in the meeting, the release added.
