RAF team, MPSC chairman, others met Governor

Imphal, May 21 2023:
Governor Anusuiya Uikey met with Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) chairman Laishram Angam Chand Singh, members of Adhivakta, Koireng Youth Organisation, All Manipur Brahmin Organisation and RAF inspector general of police Anne Abraham and five officers of RAF on Friday at Raj Bhavan.
During the meeting with RAF officials, IGP Anne Abraham briefed the Governor about the prevailing situation and se-curity measures put in place to prevent further untoward incidents in the state.
She also highlighted about the security deployment in the most vulnerable areas of Imphal region.
The Governor advised the IGP to take all necessary and rapid action to contain violence and to put efforts for maintenance of law and order in the state.
During the meeting with team of Kdhi-vakta comprising its general secretary Salam Rupachandra Singh, joint secretary S Suresh Singh and Mahila pramukth Laishram Sanjeeka Devi, the team high-lighted the need to restore peace and har-mony in state while urging the Governor to put all efforts to bring back normalcy.
The Governor expressed confidence that with the efforts of all the stakeholders, the situation will return to normalcy very soon while also appealing all to put their efforts to establish peace and harmony.
In her meeting with four members of Koireng Youth Organisation including its president RN Boipu Koireng, the Organ-isation apprised her about the prevailing situation aftermath of the recent violence in the state and urged the Governor to take all possible steps to normalise the situation at the earliest.
While requesting the Governor to pro-vide security, protection and safety to the Koireng tribe along with the provision of essential commodities, the team expressed their appreciation towards her efforts to contain violence and the efforts for giving immediate relief and rehabilitation to the violence hit displaced people in the state.
All Manipur Brahmin Organisation con-venor Aribam Mangishana Sharma along with five other members also apprised the Governor about the condition of the victims after the May 3 communal clashes and the difficulties faced by many of the displaced people.
The team particularly informed the Governor about demolition of Hindu religious site at Koubru Leikha in Kangpokpi district.
The team also appealed to the Governor to facilitate the rebuilding of many of the worship places burnt, destroyed or damaged in the aftermath of the clashes irrespective of religion or places.
