Kangpokpi, May 21 2023:
Christian women in Kang-pokpi district prayed in the open air for their people and also for those against them under the scorching heat on Sunday.
Hundreds of Christian wom-en including internally dis-placed, whose Churches had been burnt down, congregat-ed at Saparmeina village and joined a mass prayer seeking God's blessing for their peo-ple and those who are against them.
The womenfolk prayed for peace with tears running down their eyes and also sought global attention to hold prayers for the internally displaced persons from both commu-nities in conflict.
Deinou, one of the Chris-tian women, said "our place of worship, the core of our belief had been ruined, but we stand together and pray for ourselves, our people, and the people who brought misery upon us." While disclosing many of the families have either lost their loved ones or their where-abouts remain unknown due to the violence, she said in-spite of the distressful situation, 'we have come together and prayed under the burning sun for peace, and God's blessing to all' .
