Imphal, May 21 2023:
Maintaining that all the communities have been affected due to the recent unwanted incidents while observing that prolonging the tension will prove disastrous for the state, Thangmeiband MLA Kh Joykisan has called upon the community leaders to contribute their mite in restoring peace and normal-cy, and also to control their community members from making hate speeches.
Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) offered floral trib-utes to civilians, who were killed in the ethnic clash, and also prayed for peace and normalcy in an event held at Leonlee community hall, Thangmeiband Thingel Leikai on Sunday.
Attending the event, MLA Joykisan said that people of all communities should work towards restoring peace and normalcy centred on the sense of unity of the different communities.
Despite the ef-fect of the clash, that resulted in death and destruction on either sides, both communi-ties should follow forgive and forget principle in order to bring peace and unity, he said.
TAKDO Women's Wing president Maibam Inakkhu-nbi emphasised on the role of MLAs in restoring peace and normalcy as TAKDO Bazar Community Board executive member Manish Sablawat called for peace and unity among the different communities and TAKDO tribal forum advisor Danny Malangmei stressed the need for resolving the issue through dialogues and discussion.
