The outpouring of relief items continues with many in the State making concerted efforts to elevate at least some of the difficulties faced by the displaced families.
A team led by Janata Dal (United) vice president and social worker Shanjoy Ahanthem personally enquired after the needs of the inmates at Itai Khunou Government High School and provided monetary assistance of Rs 17,000 .
It may be noted that the inmates of this relief camp fled from their homes in Torbung area to escape the violence.
The team also included Th Romesh, Pradhan nominee, Borayangbi GP; L Binod, Up-Pradhan, Wangoo Terakhong GP and Kh Yaima, retd Headmaster and president of JD(U) Kumbi Kendra Committee.

Representatives of nine clubs from Ithai area who were responsible for setting up the relief camp interacted with the team regarding the current turmoil.
The team then handed over the aforementioned sum of Rs 17,000 to N Rabi Meitei, Committee Cashier to aid the camp inmates.
Shanjoy Ahanthem expressed great appreciation for the dedicated volunteers who are working relentlessly to tend to the daily needs of the displaced families.
Separately, the team also met up with the villagers of Haotak Tamphakhunou who have taken up the responsibility of safeguarding the village themselves.
Various essential items including vegetables, drinking water, rice etc were handed over to the village folks.
Dr Akoisana, president of Khangabok Kendra Young Farmers Development Organisation and District Pharmaceutical and Entrepreneurship Organisation Thoubal handed over essential items to relief camp inmates at Khangabok Higher Secondary School along with monetary assistance of Rs 3000 today.
He donated 2 bags of rice, 300 hand sanitizers and one tanker of water to the roughly 170 inmates who have been taking shelter at the school since May 6 .
Dr Akoisana also lauded Thoubal DC for his significant contribution in setting up the relief camp" .
While speaking in this connection, Dr Akoisana asserted that it is the sworn duty of the political leaders to ensure that the indigenous population exists peacefully in their land and those who have illegally entered the State are sent back as per the law.
Dr Akoisana claimed that around 1984 some groups pretending to be indigenes infiltrated the north-eastern and south-western hill ranges of Manipur and indulged in large scale deforestation and poppy cultivation.
He continued to allege that as a result of this, youths of the State began falling into the deadly trap of drug addiction while the environment suffered greatly due to cutting down of trees.
In a bid to combat these issues, the State Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh took up several measures and the illegal migrants retaliated leading to the ongoing state of unrest, he claimed.
At this juncture he stressed on the need to rebuild the bonds of love and brotherhood between the two communities.
Those who are averse to this idea can be considered to be threats to the integrity of Manipur, he added.
Mutum Tombimacha, National Awardee teacher from Tekcham under Thoubal district donated pens, notebooks, toys etc to young children at six different relief camps in Thoubal.
Handing over the aforementioned items to the children sheltering at Khangabok Higher Secondary School relief camp, Mutum Tombimacha shared that he had distributed the stationery items and toys after getting permission from ZEO Thoubal.
"Please stop the civil war in view of the young children.
This turmoil will make many of these kids grow up without parents.
Society will not benefit in any way from it", he said while calling on the public to help in restoring peace.
A BJP team comprising Naorem Nabachandra, BJP Manipur Pradesh invitee; Kh Madubala, incharge, BJP Kakching district and leaders of BJP Kakching Mandal personally enquired after the living conditions of the inmates at Kakching Higher Secondary School relief camp along with handing over financial assistance to the tune of Rs 10,000.It may be noted that this relief camp was set up by the Committee for Peace and Harmony, Kakching.
Thokchom Ibochouba, father of Heirok Assembly Constituency MLA Dr Thokchom Radheshyam donated healthcare products and other essential items for the inmates at Heirok Higher Secondary school relief camp.
The donated items include sanitary pads, soaps, mosquito nets, tooth brushes among others which were handed over to representatives of Relief Committee Heirok.
Relief Committee Heirok is a coalition of twenty four clubs from Heirok who were responsible for setting up the relief camp at Heirok Higher Secondary School.
