Suspected cases of dengue spread in Moreh

Moreh, October 29 2021:
With many people in Moreh infected by suspected cases of dengue in the last few days, immediate attention of the government has been drawn for taking up necessary measures.
On Friday, a 13-year-old from Phaicham Veng, Moreh Ward No.3 was brought to Sub-District Hospital, Moreh for treatment.
The patient is suspected to be suffering from dengue.
Apart from the 13-year old, four other people including an 18-year-old girl from Munnom Veng; a 32-year-old from Chwangpai; a 15-year-old from Ngamkhai Veng, Moreh Ward No 8 and one Md Amu (22) of Moreh Ward No.5, who are suspected to be suffering from dengue, have been taken to Imphal for treatment.
Moreover, samples of eight other persons have been collected and sent for testing to the state's capital.
Speaking to the media, Tengnoupal district's assistant malaria officer Dr Kamei Khamchungpu Rongmei informed that the samples of suspected dengue cases have been sent to the laboratory of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) for testing.
The officer also informed that very soon fogging operations will be carried out in Moreh Town while a team of District Malaria Officer would be visiting the border town on Saturday to review the situation and hold meetings with stakeholders concerned.
It may be recalled here that many people died of dengue in Moreh in September, 2007 .
