Imphal, December 21 2021:
As a part of 'Eigi Emung BJP gi Emung' campaign which will be held in the state from December 16 to 30, BJP Thoubal Mandal and party's intending candidate Leitanthem Basanta alias Bhim launched a house-to house sticker and poster campaign in Thoubal assembly constituency on Tuesday.
The programme launched with an aim to create awareness about the various schemes taken up by the BJP-led governments both at the centre and in the state was inaugurated by BJP Thoubal district president Yumnam Kumarjit.
The campaign has also been launched under the joint aegis of BJP Wangkhem Mandal and BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson Dr Nimaichand Luwang, an intending candidate of BJP in Wangkhem AC, at Sangomshang on Tuesday.
During the programme, a reception of new members of BJP from Sangomshang was also held.
BJP Thoubal District president Yumnam Kumarjit, vice president Sh Japan Singh, Wangkhem Mandal president L Sunilkumar and other BJP leaders also attended the programme.
On Monday, BJP national spokesperson and Manipur in-charge Sam-bit Patra launched the party's 'Eigi Emung, BJP gi Emung' campaign at Lairenhanjaba Leikai and Hijam Dewah Leikai in Thangmeiband AC.
Speaking at the launch event, Sambit Patra contended that the Congress party always considered Manipur as its own personal ATM machine.
If there is any shortage of money, all the Congress has to do is to exploit resources of the state and then fill their pockets with the stolen money.
During its long reign in the state, Congress did not care about development or providing safe drinking water to the people.
However, the state and the entire north-east region are having a new lease of life under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, he said.
Further stating that Congress leaders, MLAs and ministers of Manipur take at least a month to get an appointment with their national leaders like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Sambit pointed out that for BJP, the union ministers make the visit to the state themselves to assess the development levels.
He then said that BJP considers the people as its own family and as such, the 'Eigi Emung, BJP gi Emung' campaign was born.
Congress, however, belongs to only one family.
Recently, PM Modi wore the "Lengyan" (stole) while offering prayers in the Ganga, which shows that he always keeps Manipur near to his heart.
The launch function was attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary T Premananda Meitei and BJP Imphal Central president Aribam Punyabanta.
