TK Hangzo kicks off election campaign in Singngat AC

TK Hangzo has announced his candidature for the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election in Singngat AC yesterday.
Announcing his candidature, TK Hangzo, a retired central officer, also highlighted his manifesto at the event.
Launching his election campaign, TK Hangzo promised in his manifesto to set up of mini-hydro project at Tuivai Upstream to provide electric supply in Singngat area; Development of Behiang as a border trade centre under Indo-Myanmar Trade Agreement and setting up of Integreted Check Post(ICP) and Land Customs Centre(LCS) to facilitate fast movement of goods; Promotion of ecotourism for conservation and sustainable development based on responsible travel and involvement of local their economic benefits; Protection of forest dwelling rights of villages affected by Kaihlam Wildlife Sanctuary under Forest Rights Act 2006 and denotification of Kaihlam Wildlife Sanctuary notified without the consent of the local chiefs, are some of the Singngat AC specific subjects.
In the event organised by his election committee, Hangzo said his decision to take a a plunge in electoral politics was steered by his desire to offer service for the socio-economic and political emancipation of tribal communities of Singngat sub division in particular and Churachandpur district as a whole.
Other significant mentioned in the manifesto include, strengthening and empowerment of Hill Area Committee( HAC) set up under Article 371 C of the Constitution and conducting early election of ADC in hill areas; ensuring effective implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes(CSS), Flagship Schemes, and Central, Central Sector Schemes; creating conducive atmosphere for Corporate investment by Big Industrial Houses in Agriculture, Horticulture Sectors and setting up of different industries in Singngat Sub division and Churachandpur District, setting up of stadium and Sports Infrastructure to promote love and brotherhood among all Zomi/Kuki tribes and bring peaceful coexistence.
