The state government has notified that the November 20 order listing permitted activities, SOPs to be followed in respect of opening of educational institutions, social gatherings, operation of swimming pools and imposition of night curfew from 10 pm to 4 am has been extended till January 20, 2022.In a notification issued Tuesday, State Executive Committee chairman and chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar stated that the order has been extended in view of advisory of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued on November 25 and December 4 in connection with reported spread of Omicron variant and for implementation of prompt and effective containment measures of Covid-19.Mandatory wearing of face mask at all gatherings shall be strictly enforced and deputy commissioners/district magistrates shall issue orders making it a direct responsibility of the event organiser, the order specified, adding that event organiser should issue clear advance instructions to all invitees/participants to wear face mask and also keep spare face masks at the venue.
Organiser should also assign specific persons to ensure everyone wears face masks, it instructed.
The notification further directed DCs and SPs to assign duties to sub divisional officers, sub divisional police officers, etc, to inspect various events/gatherings being organised in their jurisdictions and ensure wearing of face mask by all.
Penalties should be imposed promptly on violators, including the event organiser.
