Chiefs survey Guite Road project

While carrying out survey on the Guite road width and the nature of disposing muck, the Guite Road Chiefs' Association on Saturday found out that at some places the standard specification has not been met in terms of actual blacktopping of the road surface.
This is in the case of 72/73 chain-S where it is only 9m and 10m at 85.150 chain-S while at 89.360 chain-S, muck disposal has been done at 18m area.
According to a source, the surface of the road which has been blacktopped needs to be at least 7m while the total surface of the road should cover at least 24m.Disposal of muck has also been done at other areas which have not been officially arranged/sp'ecified, the president was quoted as saying by the source.
There should be one disposal site each at every 10km.Officials of MNS, a private company private engaged by the NHIDCL were urged by the chiefs' association to carry out its construction activities in a manner that forest is not damaged along the road stretch.
Meanwhile, officials of various companies while talking to this correspondent admitted that there is no hindrance in their activities and the cooperation from the public is overwhelming, adding that they (companies) have solid backing of all the village chiefs along the stretch of road.
The construction of National Highway (NH102 B) spanning 141 km has been going on since the year 2020 under the National Highway Infrastructural Development Corporation (NHIDCL).
It is about 110km from Singngat to Tuivai River and is divided into five portions.
