Nurses are heart and soul of Health Care Sector, says Health Minister

Health Minister, Dr Sapam Ranjan has asserted that nurses are the heart and soul of the health care sector who share a good rapport with the patients.
He made the above statement while speaking as the chief guest on the occasion of 11th Foundation Day and Oath Taking Ceremony of 1st Semester B.Sc Nursing students of the College of Nursing, Lamphelpat held at the conference hall of the college.
The occasion was attended by Dr Kh Shasheekumar Mangang, Director Health Services, Manipur; Dr N Surbala Devi, Principal, College of Nursing Lamphelpat; Lalbiekmol, Joint Director, Nursing and Th Nandarani, Registrar, Manipur Nursing Council as the presidium members.

The Minister while lauding the sincere and dedicated services of the nurses, emphasized on the importance of nursing care as such care and affection of the nurses will create an impact on the patients thereby helping them in their recovery.
Speaking about patient's care, the Minister said, 'When the patients are discharged from hospitals, they may not know your name but the love and care you provide while treatment will live in them forever and it is also the most part in the life of a nurse' .
He further stated, 'The temperament to be a nurse is there in us and is there in our blood, that is the reason why our nurses are very popular and many of them got placement jobs in a big hospital outside our state' .
With regards to the rising Dengue cases in the State, the Minister informed that adequate measures are being taken up by the Health Department to check the further spread of the disease.
He also appealed to take necessary precautionary measures and be aware to stay protected from the disease.
The nurses can play their part in raising awareness about the preventive measures of Dengue, he added.
Later, the Minister and his team inspected the work progress and preparedness of the Churachandpur Medical College which sets its session from this month.
Minister also inspected the Ayush Hospital, Moulvaiphei, Churachandpur and advised the agency concerned and contractor for completion of the structure at the earliest.
The Minister was accompanied by the State Mission Director, NHM, Manipur, Dr Somorjit Ningombam; Director Ayush, Dr A Guneshwaor Sharma; Joint Directors; Deputy Secretary (Health) and others.
