Anti-Malaria Month kicks off in Moreh

The observance of Anti-Malaria month has kicked off at the border town of Moreh along with a function held at the Conference Hall of Moreh Sub-Divisional Hospital in Moreh today.
The inaugural function of the Anti Malaria month observance, which is being organised by Anti Malaria Month Moreh Division under the sponsorship of District Victor Borne Disease Control Society, was attended by Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, IAS, ADC Moreh and Dr.Nongmaithem Birchandra Singh, CMO/DMO, Chandel District as chief guest and President respectively.
Dr.Salam Priyokumar Singh, MO In-Charge Moreh Hospital and Dr.Khangenbam Shantikumar, MO In-Charge Primary Health Centre, Moreh were also present on the occasion as guests of honour.

Chief guest Robert, in his speech, assured all possible assistance from his side for preventing the spread of Malaria in Moreh town and its adjoining villages.
Speaking as president of the function, CMO Chandel Dr Birchandra pointed out that Malaria has widely infected people of remote villages lying along the border with Myanmar, who carry out fishing activities, and added that ASHAs posted at such villages need to be trained properly on how to feed medicines and provide treatment.
Staff members of medical department including ASHAs participated in the programme.
