Street play on Diarrhoea displayed

As a part of observing Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight, the students of Bhairodan Maxwell Hindi Primary School have displayed street play depicting how to menace diarrhoea disease.
The programme was organised by District Health Society, Imphal West district under National Rural Health Mission for achieving the goal of zero death due to childhood diarrhea.
During the 10 minute long street play, the students of the Bhairodan Maxwell Hindi Primary School have narrated through the play the precautionary measures for diarrhoea and medication for it.
The Chief Medical Officer of the Imphal West district Dr S Bimolakumari and the headmistress of the School Khwairakpam Suniti, a national teacher Awardee were present in the street play show.
The CMO divulged that the programme has targeted to provide benefit of the Fortnight to the 66,000 infants of the district.
She further mentioned that Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) with zinc tablet should be administered to diarrhoea effected children and added that the ORS and zinc tablets are readily available at the two Urban Health Centre, two Community Health Centre, 8 Public Health Centre and 50 Public Health Sub Centre respectively.
The said ORS and zinc tablets are also available through Accredited Social and Health Activist (ASHA), she added.
