Lamka, August 01 2014 :
Reacting to the news published by Hueiyen Lanpao Daily on August 1 under the caption "Attempt to kidnap Secretary of Bus Owners' Association foiled", Churachandpur-Imphal Taxi Owners' Society (CITOS) today said it was a concocted report.
According to Churachandpur-Imphal Taxi Owners' Society, the JAC secretary B.Dhanabir Sharma called up the president of CITOS at about 9 pm on July 30 for an urgent meeting at Keishampat, Imphal.
The Society, in a statement, said that President Lunkholal Haokip responded positively and turned up to the place.
As the CITO president was suspicious of some foul play from the caller and as he was not fully acquainted with the place, he went with some friends, the Society clarified, adding that JAC secretary B.Dhanabir Sharma apparently made a call to the police commandos when CITOS president and friends arrived at the place.
They were surrounded and two of them arrested, the statement alleged.
"B.Dhanabir Sharma is notorious for creating a big problem to Taxi winger services with a malicious intention to disturb the vehicle services in the line.
He used police commandos by paying a huge sum of money," the CITOS charged.
The society further charged B.Dhanabir Sharma with instigating the transport department employees to arrest the winger vehicles without any reason.
The press release said that all issues which cropped up between CITOS and Tiddim Line Bus Owners' Association are the result of Dhanabir's sinister game plan.
All need to be aware so as not to succumb to it, it added.
