Even as the anti-liquor month announced by Chura-chandpur Police has come into effect from today, Superintendent of Police K Kabib told reporters that police would soon check shops across the town to check sale of malt, local and imported liquor, reports our Lamka correspondent.
He also warned illegal cooking gas traders and fake ID users in social networking site who often posts unverified and offensive stories.
Addressing reporters at his chamber, Kabib said that he has made a clear set of priorities for controlling the sale and consumption of liquor as it is the major reason for all crimes.
He added that increasing the number of adequately equipped Quick Response Teams (QRTs) is at the top priority.
With the police declaring August as anti-liquor month the SP expressed confidence that it would lead to a noticeable drop in daily crime rate.
The SP also warned black marketers especially those dealing in cooking gas to stop their illegal activities.
He has a word of advice for those using the social networking sites to spread false, unverified and provocative stories saying that they are the ones who often give communal colour even to the pettiest of crime.
"Due to our public notice issued earlier, the number of fake accounts in social networking sites like Facebook has considerably come down but there still are some who were still out there.
Let them be warned, we know where they are and who they are.
If they don't stop their mischief we will hunt them down wherever they are," said Kabib adding that it may be in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai or any other cities.
