MUSU RDC appeals

The Manipur University Students' Union Revival Demand Committee (MUSU RDC), in a press release, presented a list of infrastructural defects of Manipur University.
The press release said that two Visitor posts in the University have been lying vacant since the last two years.
Also, it added, since the expiry of visitor nominees' term on March 20, the MU authority is yet to announce the list of new faculty members owing to lack of Visitor nominees.
These vacancies, including statutory post, were notified five months ago.
However, it added, the authority managed to get away from declaring the final list with one reason or the other.
Owing to lack of faculties and statutory posts MU students, it reported, has been facing difficulties in academics for the last few years.
MUSU RDC, therefore, appealed MU authority to fill up these vacancies at the earliest.
It also appealed the authority for the early declaration of University examination results keeping in view of the students academic calendar.
Nearly 30 two-wheelers of teachers and students, the press release continued, have been stolen from the University campus.
The University authority however, instead of reacting on the matter, refused to take responsibilities, it added.
MUSU RDC therefore urged the MU authorities to discontinue using the University security personnel for personal purposes.
It further stated that the new token system for parking vehicles inside University campus is only aiding to more frequent traffic jams.
Manipur University, it claimed, has been problem prone for the last few years.
The committee, therefore, appealed the authorities to rectify the above mentioned problems before August 13 failing of which, the committee warned, they would boycott the activities of Vice-Chancellor and Chief Rector Governor inside MU campus.
The committee will further submit a memorandum to the Visitor MU and the Union HRD Minister regarding the matter, it added.
