Public Information Campaign: 23,108 students avail Mid Day Meal in CcPur

With the construction of 107 buildings, Churachandpur district has a total of 1010 Anganwadi Centre as on July this year, said District Project Officer Jouneikim of ICDS Cell Churachandpur during the three-day Public Information Campaign (PIC) of PIB Imphal at B.Vengnuom village of Churachandpur on Thursday.
Altogether 107 Anganwadi centre buildings have been constructed under 4th phase of the ICDS project in the district in collaboration with DRDA, Churachandpur, she added.
The district ICDS has covered 264896 of aged below 6 years.
This includes 132312 male and 132584 female.
Among the beneficiaries 5057 children were of age between 6 months to one year, 13338 of them between one-year to three-year and 20165 from three-years to six-years of age.
A total of 4238 nursing mother and 3814 pregnant women were also availing the benefits of the programme.
There are no severe malnourished children in the ICDS project in the district, she said.
Besides carrying out a public rally with the message of the PIB campaign on the villager roads, a free medical camp was organized by the district National Health Mission (NHM) in association with PIB, Imphal.
A total of 342 villagers attended by medical officers of the district HNM authority during the medical camp.
Speaking as resource person during the programme, Joycy Lalrinpui, PO, DRDA, Churachandpur said a total of 56,499 job cards have been issued Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Churachandpur district still September 2014 .
Joycy said that a total of 837 works under MGNREGS have been taken up during the current financial year, 2014-15 in the district.
Informing that a total of 23,108 school going children in Churachandpur are getting the benefits of the Mid-Day-Meal, Khaikhanlian Guite, DNO, ZEO Churachandpur said out of this total 23,108 children, 18671 are of primary level students and 4437 upper primary students of various government and government aided schools.
A total of 436 schools including 266 government and government aided schools having primary and upper primary students and another 170 schools under Autonomous District Council Churachandpur are availing the benefits of the Mid Day Meal, he added.
A total of 864 cook were engaged with a honorarium of Rs 50 per day (Rs 1000 per month), he said, adding that the number of days approved by PAB 2014 for implementation of MDM in school was 222 days a year.
National Health Mission in Churachandpur district, is being implemented with emphasis on Reduction of Maternal Mortality Rate, (MMR), Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Reduction of Total Fertility Rate (TFR) under Janani-Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) and Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), said DPM Seiboi Mate of DRDA, Churachandpur.
Speaking further, he said that under the JSSK scheme, any pregnant women who seek medical help can avail the benefits of the schemes from any of the government healthcare centre.
Regarding incentive for mothers for all live births, Seiboi said that cash incentive of Rs 700 is being for institutional delivery in rural area, Rs 600 to urban areas, Rs 500 for home delivery for both rural and urban areas.
In case of Churachandpur district individual household approach, based on Permanent IAY Waitlist on priority is being adopted while implementing the Indira Awaas Yojana, one of the flagship programmes of the Central government, asserted APO Royal Hangzou of DRDA, Churachandpur.
In hilly areas, assistance given per house is Rs 75,000 and for up-gradation of dilapidated/kutcha house is Rs 15,000 only.
The cost of the scheme is shared between government of India and state governments in the ratio 90:10 in the case of North Eastern States, he maintained.
Six residential special schools have been opened and 365 students have enrolled till date in Churachandpur district under Central government's flagship programme, Sarva Shiksa Abhiyan (SSA), according to Gojendra Singh, DPM, SSA, ZEO Churachandpur.
Under SSA, in-service teachers were imparted training to improve and adaptation to the new teaching pattern.
Recently, a total of 580 teachers from Autonomous District Council (ADC) and Zonal Education Office (ZEO) of the district were selected for 10 days for imparting the said training, he said.
