63rd Death Anniv of Irabot observed

The 63rd Death Anniversary of Hijam Irabot (State Mourn Day) was observed by Irabot Celebration Committee at Irabot Bhavan here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Moirangthem Ibohal, a close associate of Irabot said that Irabot fought back against oppression and suppression for betterment of the people till the end of his life and asserted that the late leader had wanted to build a society where there is equality and unity.
He stated that Irabot was a true communist leader who once contested election in Cachar with the aim to uplift the people from suppression and called upon the people to follow footsteps of Irabot for building an egalitarian society.
Dr Nara, secretary of CPI Manipur State Council said that the month-long Irabot memorial function has been observed by Irabot Celebration Committee to recall the sacrifices made by Irabot for upliftment of the society.
Dignitaries offering of floral tributes to photo of Irabot and observing a two-minute silence as a trbute to the late leader were the main highlights of the observance function which was also attended by M Mangi, ex-Minister; Langol Iboyaima, former secretary of CPI Manipur State Council and members of the party.
The 63rd Death Anniversary of Hijam Irabot was also observed by Joint Students' Coordination Committee (JSCC), an apex body of AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK and AIMS at the premises of Manipur College with Kh Jayanta Kumar, principal of Manipur College and Th Premananda, convener of JSCC attending as Presidium Members.
