Disqualification case adjourned

Imphal, September 26 2014 :
The plea seeking disqualification of five legislators of Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) was heard by Manipur Legislative Assembly Tribunal today which adjourned it till October 5 .
The vice-president of MSCP, Adim Panmei approached the Speaker Th Lokeshwor's tribunal seeking disqualification of the five party MLAs after they joined the Congress Party recently.
The five MLAs declared that MSCP had merged with Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) at the time they joined the latter.
MLAs K Thamarjit, Nemcha Kipgen, RK Imo, P Brojen and Zanghemlung Panmei who are facing charges that attract disqualification were present before the tribunal.
However, the hearing was adjourned by the Speaker till October 5 .
MSCP vice-president Adim Panmei has been insisting that MSCP is still functioning.
But the five MLAs had claimed that the party organisation was closed down after it merged with MPCC (I) .
