Clean India Campaign kick-starts

Imphal, September 26 2014 :
The Manipur chapter of the country-wide Clean India Campaign was kick-started today by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Francis Ngajokpa.
At a function held in the conference hall of Manipur Secretariat (South Block) this morning, Francis Ngajokpa who is also Chairman of the Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency (MSRRDA) formally declared the campaign opened.
The campaign would be carried out as declared by the Prime Minister with a view to realize the aspiration of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, Francis Ngajokpa said.

As part of the campaign, repairing and cleanliness drive would be undertaken on 1036 roads constructed in the State under PMGSY.
The campaign would go on till October 24 .
RD&PR Joint Secretaries Nita Arambam, Jeoffrey, MSRRDA Chief Engineer Ningthoujam Bapuchand and other officials were also present at the function.
Later, the Minister and the officials joined a clean-up drive on Meitram road.
