MSRRDA clarifies

Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency (MSRRDA) Chief Engineer Ningthoujam Bapuchand has asserted that road construction works being undertaken in Eastern Maring area of Chandel district are being carried out according to the Union Ministry's guidelines.
Speaking to media persons at his office today, N Bapuchand said that 30 Kms long road from Tengnoupal to Rilram Centre was constructed under Phase V and Phase VI of PMGSY.
Plans are afoot for further development of the same road under PMGSY Phase X.Construction/development work of the road was completed under Phase VIII.
Now is the time for maintenance and maintenance is generally done either before the arrival of rainy season or after the rainy season.
The road wore out due to the heavy rainfall this month and frequent movement of heavy trucks, said the CE.
The 17 Kms long road from Ril Ram Centre to Khudei Khullen has also been listed for repairing under PMGSY Phase IX, informed the Chief Engineer.
Worn out sections, break down of hill slopes resulting in slippery conditions should be managed by the contractors concerned.
The contractors have been directed to repair all the affected sections.
Moreover, a senior engineer would be sent to make a spot assessment.
Stipulated period for developing the said road is still running and no additional fund has been released, said the CE while appealing to the people of the area to wait for sometime.
The Chief Engineer said that he would welcome all complaints.
All these roads would be repaired under the Clean India Campaign, he added.
