State loses Covid free status

Imphal, May 24 2022:
After remaining free of any active Covid-19 cases for four days, a new positive case was detected on Tuesday, out of 101 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus breaking the zero-detection pattern of 11 consecutive days.
The state became Covid -19 free on May 20 after three active cases on home isolation were discharged on the same day.
At the same time, no new case was detected since May 13.The latest case is a resident of Imphal West.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,37,230 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
A total of 1376 vaccine doses were administered on Monday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,67,197, out of which 12,23,833 had received second doses and 94,208 had taken precautionary doses.
